ANNUAL REPORT (2018-19)

In St. Mary’s School, Buddhi Vihar we believe that every individual has a lot of potential and that potential can help accomplish wonders. With renewed enthusiasm and vigour on 4th April, 2018 the new session began. One could see the joy and thrill of meeting and being with the friends.

Staff: In 2018-19,

School had: Primary side

Confirmed – 13 Teachers

Probation – 28 Teachers + 2 Office Staff

Kindergarten side

Confirmed – 4 Teachers

Probation – 4 Teachers

Total Staff on-roll - 51 Teachers

 

School Assembly: The School takes care of faith formation of students and even teachers by having elaborated prayer on various thrones values etc. every morning from Class I onwards.

Competitions: To develop the hidden talents of Students School offers various competitions like Collage making, Quizzes, Cultural dance and Singing etc. for improvement in the writing skills competitions like Calligraphy etc. are organized.

For enhancing their speaking skills and for the development of their personality competitions like Speech, Debate and Extempore were organized which helped them to boost up their confidence level.

Creative Corner: All the students are supposed to decorate the display boards, given standard wise with their creative ideas according to their themes being given to them time to time as per falling occasion of the month.

Exhibition: School has organized an exhibition to develop the capacity of presentation and explanation.

Celebrations: To inculcate the value of secularism the school celebrated major festivals like Deepawali, Christmas, Rakshabandhan. We have also celebrated important day like Independence and Republic Day with full zeal and enthusiasm so as to make students understand the feeling of nationalism.

Sports: Required physical exercises are taken care of in the school in the form of PT, games like Basketball, Skating, Table Tennis, Badminton, kho-kho, etc. Our Kho-Kho and Kabaddi teams went for 1st St. Ann’s Province Inter School Athletics sports meet and came up with certificates of appreciation.

Charity: To inculcate the great value of sharing with the less privileged ones of the Society, the school organized a charity drive week in December and school also helped out the people affected by the natural calamities like floods. Basic necessities items were sent as help to the flood victims in August, 2018.

Teachers Empowerment Programmes: Our teachers constantly strive to stay updated by attending workshops and various training programmes.

A 2-days workshop cum session on Classroom Management and Psychological Issues of the students by Rev. father Vincent.

TUK General Knowledge Workshop: Organized in January, 2019 to make the GK classes more interactive with the visual aids. If was power packed interactive session where in the teachers participated actively.

ELT workshop was organized by Orient Black Swan in Jan, 2019 where Mrs. Rohini Bhatt a resource person emphasized on to encourage the learners for more and more reading of English text emphasis was laid on bringing all the students on a platform to speak, read and write English language accurately.

Remedial Teaching besides regular classes, weak students were given special care in the class by the teachers.

Personal hygiene and dental check-up- Counseling session for Personal Hygiene was given by Mrs. Shalini one of the representator by P&G India.

A team of dentists along with their associates from Kothiwal Dental College, Moradabad organized an oral hygiene campaign in January, 2019 in the school where students were checked-up by their team and advised for proper treatment in cavities cases.

Campaigns: A team from Municipal Corporation Moradabad conducted an awareness campaign in the school where cleanliness of the city and campus was their main agenda.

School also participated in the rally organized by Amar Ujala for BetiBachaoBetiPadhao on BalakDiwas.

Parents – Teachers Meetings: The school organized PTM at regular intervals of time so as to show the level of performance shown by the students to their parents.

Eco Club: Organized ‘Plantation Day’ in School. Students panted a good number of Plants.

Teachers had organized an Awareness Programme SAY NO TO PLASTICS in School.

Annual Report 2019-20

St. Mary’s School Buddhi Vihar is a part of St. Ann’s Education Mission which is being run under Moradabad St. Mary’s Society established in 2015.

The Annual report showcases the achievements and glories of our school, undoubtedly, but also makes us think deeply about our scope of improvement. The school has always been committed to create an environment that helps the young minds to blossom and provide a platform for individual thinking and holistic development of the child’s personality. 

We set standards and goals for the marians and strive to achieve them be it in the area of academics, sports, discipline, leadership or more.

Each year St. Mary’s holds the Annual Prize distribution ceremony to honour those students who have made the school proud with their brilliant efforts not only in the academics but also in the co-curricular areas. 

Olympiad

“The quality of your thinking, determines the quality of your mind”.

Participation in the CBSE Science, Mathematics, English, Informatics’, SST like BRICS, AryabhattaGanit Challenge, Heritage India Quiz, Adobe Computer Challenge, Reading Challenge, Brain O Brain Science & Maths Olympiad etc. itself is the biggest competition where a student  competes to outshine others. It infuses a healthy competition sprit through reward based assessment. Our children came up with certificates of appreciation in all the competition.

 Sports

“To be a great champion, you must believe you are the best. If you are not, keep or trying”.

Sports competitions inculcate the spirit of positive challenges & sportsmanship among the students and prepare them for the life ahead, Sports, Games and physical fitness (exercises and yoga) occupy a place of importance in our curriculum. Keeping this idea, the school has organized Annual sports meet on 4th December 2019 in the school playground where Marians displayed their level of energies us front of the dignitaries setting the tone for the event including Frog race, Relay race, Kho-kho, lemon race and drills based on different themes.

Yoga classes were taken by PTI’s bi-weekly so as to make our children physically and mentally fit.

School Houses

The students of the school are divided into four houses; Amethyst, Garnet, Emerald and Diamond each house is managed by the Teachers, and students as a House Captain and Vice captain including Discipline and Health minister.  The House on duty performs its duty of conducting the day to day activities, competitions in systematic and disciplined manner.

School Clubs

“All work and no play makes jack a dull boy.”

Various co-curricular activities are held under different clubs to develop a child physically, morally, socially and mentally and to have skills in co-scholastic areas. Regular monthly activities are held in which the students participate and display their caliber.

 

The different clubs are: Art & Craft Club

In Art & craft club where students do painting, sketching, use of best out of waste and best ones are displayed in the creative corner of the school’s website.

 

Eco Club

An eco-club named ‘BHOOMIKA’ is formed in the school that undertakes various activities related to the protection of the environment every month. The lists of activities to be conducted are pre-planned by the teacher in-charges. A few examples of activities are Eco-friendly fancy dress of class I & II, Use of Bio degradable & non-degradable wastes, water conservation activities had also taken place this year by higher secondary classes in which students came out with meaningful and creative ideas of water conservation through plays/drama and activities. 

SNF Club

To inculcate in the students the healthy food habits and healthy life style an awareness club named safety of nutrition & food club has been organized. This club undertakes the activities related to food and its hygiene and focuses upon the intake of healthy and nutritious diet. Various activities were undertaken by the club to spread awareness about healthy eating habits through theme based morning assemblies fancy dress shows, projects etc.

SEWA

It stands for Social Empowerment Through Work and Action. The concept is based on the idea of “Learning to live together”   detailing the structures for learning in 21st century. It focuses on developing social consciousness of the learners through simple meaningful work at the individual level. The activities like seminars on gender sensitization community awareness regarding sanitation & civic habits, women empowerment counseling sessions, gardening project have been undertaken under this project by Health and Physical trainers in the school. Performing SEWA is important because it demonstrates the belief in equality and the importance of all people.

Student’s Seminars & Workshops

“A per son who never makes a mistake never tries anything new”.

To ensure that our students are well equipped with knowledge to face any challenge, we have focused sessions on special topics including traffic rules, Health &Hygiene for girls organized by the representators of P&G India PVT.LTD, gender sensitization by school teachers, also self-defense awareness workshop. “Be an opponent, not a victim   keeping in mind the safety of our children a preliminary workshop was organized under the guidance of ASI and his team.

Teachers In-service Training & Workshop

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow, learn as if you were to live forever.” In keeping with the schools policy of continuous up gradation of knowledge and skills our teachers attended various workshops and seminars organized by the other schools, CBSE and our school so as to improve their academic transaction skills and to update their capabilities. Seminars and capacity building programmes were on these topics namely Creative thinking and Classroom Management, Life skills, Gender Sensitivity, Multiple Intelligence and Appreciative Inquiry, Inclusion & Inclusive strategies.  

 

Some seminars were conducted by other schools subjects wise too like those of English, Hindi, Information Technology, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science. In these seminars the teachers were given the information about the latest changes being brought in by CBSE in the syllabus and about new methodologies can be adopted which teaching so as to make teaching learning process more experiential based.

Celebrations

To inculcate the values of secularism the school celebrated major festivals like Diwali, Christmas, Gurupurab etc.  National festivals were also celebrated with full enthusiasm follow the circulars and guidelines provided by CBSE. Some of the celebrations undertaken by the school were 150th Birth Anniversary celebration of Mahatama Gandhi (A week programme), Independence Day, Republic Day, RashtriyaEktaDiwas. HindiDiwas, MatrabhashaDiwas These all celebrations were done in order to develop the spirit of nationalism amongst the students.

Competitions

To develop and explore the hidden talents of our children and for the development of their personality the school has encouraged the participation of the students in various competition organized during the session like Drawing, Panting, Essay  writing (English/Hindi), Speech, Debate, Recitation (English/Hindi), Group/Duet/Solo Singing, Calligraphy, Extempore. These competitions helped them to boost up their confidence level.

 

Campaigns

Awareness campaigns were also organized on Cleanliness under Swachhta Pakhwada in the month of October, Fitness week campaign in the month of November & Vigilance Awareness Campaign.

 

Parent Teacher Meeting

Parents teacher meeting are organized at regular intervals of time so as to show the level of performance shown by the students in the particular period of time. It also develops a healthy communication between the parent’ teachers and parent school administration.

Charity

To develop the value of sharing with the less privileged ones of the society the school every year organizes a charity drive in the month of December. This year also school generously contributed in the charity drive.

Exhibition

The students of our school participated in CBSE Science Exhibition organized in November 2019 in Kashipur The project our school was as Elevated Ambulance. Our girls came up with the certificate of appreciation. Also, our children had enrolled for INSPIRE Award in September 2019. They had made the project on Automatic Garbage collection, for which result is awaited.

Annual Report: 2020-21

With gratitude to God

 It is my immense pleasure to present the annual report of the School for the year 2020-21. It aims at imparting quality education through the medium of English in accordance with the syllabus, rule and regulations of CBSE. It strives for imparting best values in values in Marians.

St. Mary's School Buddhi Vihar got its affiliation-Upgradation till 12th this year.

Online teaching/learning: In this Rapid digital and technological world and during COVID-19 pandemic transformed the way of teaching-learning. Classroom teaching transformed to online versions in short span of time. Our teachers had to change to online teaching requiring them to use various digital tools, resources and implement new approaches to teaching learning.

Teacher’s competitions: The learning of learners, current trends of teaching and learning necessities a regular updating of teachers. Not only virtual seminars, workshops and training programmes but also teachers participated in the competitions conducted by CBSE like NEPTeachers competition 2020,ParikshapeCharcha, essay writing, fit India School week, fitness exercises etc.

Competitions: Our students actively participated in various virtual CBSE as well as other competitions like Arya bhatta ganit challenge, BRICS, INSPIRE, essay writing competition, Rangoli, Debate, speech, poster making, painting etc.

Virtual activities were also encouraged during the session like reading, solo singing, awareness programmes on diseases like dengue, Malaria, Swine Flu were organised in which students, teachers and parents participated enthusiastically.

Celebrations: Among the celebrations marked with maximum student’s involvement and with great joy. Teacher’s Day celebration,Children's day celebration(here teachers performed activities Virtually children were shown short movies,played game,antakshari), Independence Day celebration, National Unity day celebration(Oath taking ceremony), Constitution day celebration where Preamble were pledged by students of Classes 6th to 10th, Republic Day celebration, Gandhi Jayanti celebration and Warriors day celebration. All the celebrations were organised virtually for all the students throughout the year.

Sahodaya Events: Our Marians also came out with flying colours in the various Inter School competitions like best out of waste, No Fire cooking, fashion show, sandwich making, rangoli etc in junior category as well as middle School categories.

Swachchta campaign:An awareness programme with the support of staff,non-staff, teachers and Students School initiated online programme.Different activities were undertaken categorically like cleanliness drive (start from your home), tree plantation, ‘No’ to plastic, special assembly etc. School also conducted various activities on Road safety awareness week, NashaMukti pledge, Reading Hour, Environment Day,Yoga day.

Parents-Teacher Association: We have a strong support of our parents which we cherish every year. We had virtual meetings with parents to discuss about teaching learning process. Also days were set apart for parents teacher interaction in which parents were called Class-wise.

Examinations:  Online/offline Periodical assessments and evaluations were conducted for the students and their progress was informed to the parents frequently. Subject enrichment activities were done by the students and timely evaluations were done as internal assessment.

Remedial teaching: Remedial Classes for students who are academically not scoring well were conducted after regular Class hours at times to bring them up at par with the rest of the Class.

Conclusion:

We build upon our many accomplishments across our campus with supportive management that ensures our future success. We remain grateful to all the parents reposing their unparalleled trust in us which proper us to March ahead with greater commitment and enthusiasm. We hope to move ahead with innovation, intellectual ambitious,and creativity in our educational programmes.To Cap it all, I thank the Almighty for his continuous protection over each and every moment of the day throughout the year.
